The ZM6 Gets the "Bang for the Buck Award"
from Computers Are Us!

Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C. March 23, 1999-Computers Are Us is a Swedish Hardware and Gaming review site. They recently did a review of the ABIT's ZM6. Here are some of the highlights:

"the huge amount of bus speeds still remains, thus making the ZM6 board a great board for someone with a very low budget and who's still looking into overclocking."
"Of course the ZM6 makes use of ABIT's well known Soft Menu II system, which lets you change both bus speeds, multiplier and core voltage of your CPU through the BIOS, thus eliminating the need for any Jumpers."
"A feature of the ZM6 that I've never seen on any other ZX based motherboard is the inclusion of full 2/5/1 slot-setup (ie 2 ISA, 5 PCI and 1 AGP slots). What makes this so special is the fact that the ZX chipset only offers 4 PCI bus master signals, but ABIT still added 5 PCI slots, why? And how?
They did this because many PCI add-on cards don't require a bus master signal. The Voodoo(2) series doesn't, many network interface cards doesn't and alot of VGA cards doesn't either. This is in my humble opinion a great feature of the ZM6, because you can never have too many PCI slots."
"Another quite unique feature of the ZM6 is that it has 3 DIMM slots, even though the ZX chipset only has support for 4 memory rows (2 double-sided DIMMs). This leaves you with the ability to add 2 single sided DIMMs and one Double sided or 3 single sided, thus offering greater expandability and flexibility."
"The ZM6 delivers performance that is fully on par with any other 100Mhz FSB Intel based Socket370 or Slot1 based system. I won't go much deeper into performance questions as the ZM6 performance is almost exactly what any other ZX based board delivers."
"The ABIT ZM6 is the first product to receive one of our new Awards, Bang for bucks! Good job ABIT!"
