ABIT 26:6 The Rise of Cooling
Taipei, Taiwan, July 14th, 2003 -- ABIT’s MAX3 is near. In 7 days, 18 hours ABIT will launch the most anticipated motherboard of the Summer – ABIT’s MAX3.

Just over a year ago when MAX debuted, motherboards were pretty standard, relying on technologies that were readily available and accepted by the collective known as “the industry”. A few companies stood out with their overclocking features or quality, but motherboard back panels had remained the same for years: PS/2 ports, parallel, serial and two USB ports. Onboard sound was a rarity and was generally distrusted by the enthusiast community as being inferior to an add-on card. LAN was not standard and only had appeared on a few boards. RAID was an onboard standard that had been introduced by ABIT, as were overclocking features.

The original MAX boards from ABIT brought all of the potential technologies together that were available into one integrated solution; before the original AT7 and IT7, there were no motherboards that had LAN, sound, and 6 USB ports, not to mention Firewire. Nobody had ever thought of taking off the virtually antiquated serial, parallel and PS/2 ports either. Within a year, many other motherboard companies had attempted to make this kind of “flagship” motherboard, and some had even called them MAX! The sincerest form of flattery is imitation, and it is a testament to ABIT’s position in the motherboard industry that our competitors have tried to duplicate our products and even our name. However, only ABIT has continued to push the concept of MAX. With each new MAX comes a totally new look and feel. MAX3 is no exception.

MAX Philosophy
The original MAX series from ABIT was all about bringing the newest and latest technologies together, creating a product that was clearly ahead of it’s time. The new MAX continues in this tradition. However, while the old MAX was about reinventing the back panel, the MAX is about cooling and security. MAX3 will bring to your PC:

MAXimum Cooling
MAXimum Performance
MAXimum Storage
MAXimum Service
MAXimum Security
MAXimum Overclocking
MAXimum Multimedia
MAXimum Engineering
